Every year, the South Dakota Advertising Federation hosts the Annual South Dakota ADDY® Competition – the first of a three-tiered national competition. The ADDY Awards Competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence.
Selection of the most creative work in each category is effected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of an entry. In each category, a GOLD Addy is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition. That piece of work then advances on to the regional competition in the Spring.
Media One was awarded a GOLD ADDY for “Nothing But Scare Tactics” online video in which we pointed out all of the lies in our opposition’s ads. That same video was a finalist for a Reed Award – named after Campaign & Elections founder Stanley Foster Reed.
In March, we will receive a Pollie Award as well for work on Yes on 17, although we do not know exactly which element of the campaign. The Pollie Awards are the most prized and sought-after awards in the political communications and public affairs industries awarded by the American Association of Political Consultants.
We continue to be proud of the work we did for Yes on 17, but our biggest win is not an award, instead the major victory we had at the polls on November 4th!
